Hello there!

I’m Faith Nadine Choo – I go by Faith, although strangers who hear my full name tend to incorrectly call me Nadine – an almost-26-year-old Singaporean doctor who loves writing, travelling, movies and all things nerdy.

I was from PLMGPS’06/RGPS’09, RGS’13, RI’15, NUS Medicine/YLLSoM’21, in case any old schoolmates stumble upon this blog. 🙂

I’m currently juggling my work as a freelance/locum General Practitioner with my role as Chief Medical Officer in a health-tech startup, SenzeHub. We’re a 4-year-old startup that aims to improve population health in Singapore by integrating technology with community outreach and direct patient care.

To give you a bit of an idea of who I am, here’s 6 things about me:

  1. My dream is to explore as much of the world as possible, learn new things everyday, live life to the fullest, and just be happy
  2. I’m a jack of all trades. I’ve taught myself Korean, a teeny bit of Swedish, guitar, music production and coding. I’m self-studying psychology/business/marketing and taking sword-fighting lessons too!
  3. I’m a massive movie/TV addict – in particular, I’m a sucker for all things Marvel and love superhero/fantasy/horror/sci-fi flicks
  4. I’m also a music junkie, with 30+ Spotify playlists, the longest one having close to 1000 songs
  5. If you’re a cat person or have a pet cat, we will get along just fine
  6. I’m an INFJ, if you’re into pigeonholing people by personality type

I first started this blog in 2016 as a passion project, to chronicle the evolution of my thoughts, dreams & experiences over the years. I chose the name Chasing Faith and Love as a nod to one of my all-time favourite songs, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

I love travelling (especially with my loved ones) and occasionally post about my travels, complete with day-by-day itineraries and iPhone photos, primarily so I’ll be able to remember every little detail of my travel when I look at this blog 10 years down the road, and to help anyone out there who might be planning a similar trip.

I’ve also taken to writing extensively about my life as a medical student, House Officer/Medical Officer (including the not-so-glamourous parts), and freelance General Practitioner to raise awareness of the problems that doctors & other healthcare workers face on the ground, and to let anyone who’s interested get an insider’s look into this career path.

I’m passionate about mental health advocacy, mentorship, psychology, and preventive medicine. I provide pro bono consultations to doctors, med students and anyone else who reaches out, to share my experiences and help them make more informed decisions.

Seeing how ChasingFaithAndLove’s readership has grown over the years is akin to watching your child grow up and spread their wings. :’) I’m genuinely grateful to each and every one of you who reads my blog (especially those who take the time to DM me on Insta; your messages brighten up my day), and I hope to continue to be able to share my life journey with all of you over the years. Thank you for giving my words meaning.

Thank you to my trusty proofreaders (my mum and best friend L), and my most loyal readers/friends. ❤

Oh, and be sure to follow me on Instagram or Facebook to be updated whenever I post something new, or if you’d just like a peek into my daily life! 🙂

Here’s the ultimate Spotify playlist containing all the song recs from my monthly Life as a Doctor series, enjoy!

xoxo,
Faith
